About MN AALAS

Our Motto

"Promoting, Training and Education of laboratory animal technicians and the public in regards to the use of laboratory animals in research" reflects our commitment to both science and animal welfare.

National AALAS has 8 separate districts. The Minnesota branch is a part of District 6 and is the only AALAS branch of Minnesota.

AALAS is dedicated to the humane care and treatment of laboratory animals and the quality research that leads to scientific gains benefiting both people and animals.

We accomplish our goals by providing a social and professional network for people working with laboratory animals, training programs, access to vendors of lab animals and animal care products, and public outreach programs.

What we do:

  • Educate the public on the reality of animals in research and science
  • Network with professionals in the industry about improving animal welfare and well-being for research animals
  • Educate K-12 youth
  • Answer questions and provide facts regarding the industry
